Finding A Doctor or Surgeon

Photo Album

What Dr. Kesterson discovered when he performed the surgery is that I had a ball of connective tissue the size of a large pea under and attatched to the piriformis muscle digging into the sciatic nerve whenever I moved. See the drawing below. He removed this ball of tissue.

Recovery was amazing for me because as I awoke the pain was gone for the first time in over three years. I couldn't believe it. I was tender for about three weeks from the incision but that was nothing in comparison to the burning pain I had lived with for years. I am now free from pain completely.

I'll share some tips to help the incision heal faster. I sat on a heating pad and slept with it against my skin on low at night. This greatly reduced the pain and inflammation. I was driving after two days and sat on a couple of towles to prop up my left side and reduce the pressure on the right side. I sat this way as well when I worked at my computer.
